Donald R. Blitz MD FACOG

Dr. Blitz has been in private practice in Southfield since 1974. He was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri but defected to the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) for a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. His medical degree is from the University of Missouri, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society.
Following a Surgical internship at Barnes/Jewish Hospital Washington University, he completed an OB/Gyn residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. After two years of active duty in the US Air Force Medical Corps, he accepted a job offer in the Detroit area.
He is currently on staff at Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak and Sinai- Grace as well as the Berry Surgery Center in Farmington Hills.

Dr. Blitz and his wife have two children and three grandchildren. In his spare time time, he enjoys tennis, skiing, and flying as well as physical training. He is committed to practicing evidence-based medicine and is especially interested in family planning, menopause management, alternatives to hysterectomy, and minimally invasive surgery.
